Security-critical pathsTechnical Evidence
Biti is a self-custody wallet. Your private keys and recovery phrase are generated and stored only on your device — they are never transmitted to our servers, in any form. When you sign a transaction, the signature is computed locally; our backend only ever receives the already-signed result and broadcasts it to the network.
Your recovery phrase is encrypted before it touches disk, using AES-256-GCM — the authenticated encryption standard specified in NIST SP 800-38D. The encryption key is derived from your password using PBKDF2 with 310,000 iterations, making offline brute-force attacks computationally impractical.
Wallet addresses are derived using BIP-32, BIP-39, and BIP-44 — the same open, industry-standard specifications used by major wallets. This means your recovery phrase is portable: it can regenerate the same addresses in a BIP-44-compliant wallet, not only in Biti.
We do not currently integrate third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
